Faqs
Q1: Who is this partnership designed for?
Answer
This partnership is designed for sixth forms and schools that already develop leadership, responsibility and character through enrichment, pastoral or leadership frameworks.
Q2: Does the school need to be a CMI Centre?
Answer
No. All qualifications are delivered through TFL Education as a CMI Approved Centre, so schools do not need to apply for centre accreditation.
Q3: Does this add extra curriculum or teaching load?
Answer
No. Assignments are designed to validate leadership and responsibility students already demonstrate through school life, enrichment, volunteering and team activities.
Q4: Who assesses student work?
Answer
TFL Education manages all assessment, moderation and certification through our CMI Approved Centre. School staff are not required to assess student work.
Q5: What qualification do students achieve?
Answer
Most schools begin with the CMI Level 3 Award in Principles of Management and Leadership. Other options, including Level 2 and Level 3 pathways, may be suitable depending on student age and provision.
Q6: How does this support progression beyond sixth form?
Answer
The qualification helps students articulate leadership experience, stand out professionally, and strengthen UCAS applications, apprenticeship pathways and employment prospects.
Q7: How is the qualification funded?
Answer
Qualification fees are fixed and published. Schools may fund the qualification through existing enrichment or development budgets, or pass costs on to students where appropriate.
Q8: Do students ever pay for the qualification?
Answer
In some settings, yes. Funding arrangements are determined by the school or trust in line with existing policies.
Q9: Can this work with small cohorts or pilot groups?
Answer
Yes. Schools can begin with a small cohort or pilot group before scaling provision across year groups or programmes.
Q10: What is the next step if we’re interested?
Answer
The next step is a short mapping conversation to explore alignment with your existing provision and how the qualification can help students stand out professionally beyond school.
