Key Skills for Leadership Workshop

The Key Skills for Leadership Workshop is a dynamic, hands-on one-day experience crafted to empower students aged 12–16 with the confidence to manage, lead, coach, and mentor. 

Through interactive activities, role-playing, group collaboration, and lively discussions, students will explore various leadership pathways while developing the skills and self-assurance needed to inspire and lead both themselves and others.

Our workshop is structured into four key sessions, each focused on different aspects of leadership:

Session 1

Leadership Pathways

In this session students will explore the concept of leadership, examine prominent leaders and explore the routes that each took to leadership. They will hear about our belief that it is possible to learn how to lead and identify and discuss personal motives behind leadership ambition and the importance of independent thinking.

Session 2

Team Leading

In this session students will recognise the benefits of teamwork and see how effective teams distribute leadership to those with the appropriate skills. They will explore the six key motivators understood by good leaders and learn why tolerance is a virtue of great communities and great leaders, and discover why leaders are receptive to change.

Session 3

Communication

In this session students will assess the importance of listening to and respecting the views of others. They will also learn some of the skills of an effective speaker and start to recognise the power within.

Session 4

We Are All leaders

In this session students will appreciate the benefits of striving for ‘212 degrees’, understand the importance of now and review their current portfolio of leadership traits, before devising a personal development plan.
