Level 5 Management and Leadership


The Level 5 Management and Leadership qualification is awarded to outstanding individuals. Awarded by the Chartered Management Institute, it is recognised throughout the public and private sectors and across all management disciplines.

The aim is to support the development of your management and leadership skills, which can be used to provide leadership impact in the workplace. The management and leadership skills you will develop can immediately be implemented to lead and manage individuals and teams to deliver aims and objectives in line with organisational strategy.

The first stage of the qualification process requires you to reflect on your organisation’s vision, strategic goals and objectives.

The second stage of the qualification process requires you to focus on your personal leadership development and evaluate its effectiveness in delivering day to day results and driving best practice to support your organisation’s vision and values.

The third stage of the qualification process requires you to focus on improving practice by developing, implementing, and evaluating research-focused projects that support your organisation’s vision and values.

Level 5 Award in Management and Leadership

Qualification Reference Number: 603/2390/5

Learners need to complete unit CMI 501 to achieve this qualification. The minimum Total Qualification Time is 40 hours.

Introduction

This unit is about understanding how organisations operate and the importance of organisational culture, strategic aims and objectives.

Learners need to complete unit CMI 501, 525 and 502 to achieve this qualification. The minimum Total Qualification Time is 130 hours.

Learners need to complete unit CMI 501, 525, 502, 507, 517, 518 and 524 to achieve this qualification. The minimum Total Qualification Time is 370 hours.

Introduction

The aim of this unit is for you to conduct management research which will have an impact on organisational practice. It is expected that you will plan and manage a genuine project in the workplace or an academic enquiry relevant to an identified business need or challenge.

Be able to conduct a management project.


Design, Delivery, Duration and Assessment…

Programme design
We work with you to design your leadership development programme so that it is bespoke to your context, ensuring the mode of delivery meets your needs.

Programme delivery
We provide a self-directed study delivery method for our qualifications and work with you to support your self-directed study journey.

Programme duration
The length of study time will depend on the units chosen. As a rough guide:

Award: 1-3 months
Certificate: 3-6 months
Diploma: 6-12 months

Programme assessment
We have developed approved assignment briefs for each of the qualifications in our professional development framework, ensuring that you can meet the respective assessment criteria for each qualification.

The assignment briefs provide best practice guidelines, examine work-based scenarios, and encourage you to apply management and leadership tools, models and theories, to real life workplace situations.

Once you complete and submit your assignment briefs we then provide a direct route to accreditation.
