A KS3 support programme designed to raise aspirations of young learners by providing a structured programme of performing arts, as well as character through leadership education. The programme aims to nurture; self-esteem, emotional resilience, confidence and develop a social skills set necessary to ‘Enjoy and Achieve’ in full time mainstream education.
TFL (Teaching Future Leaders) Education currently works in partnership with UK and international schools to provide a coherent, forward thinking character through leadership development programme of study.
To support the development of pupils’ character qualities and leadership skills, we have created fully resourced primary and secondary school curriculum programmes and workshops. All curriculum programmes and workshops are culturally sensitive; promote a values-based education approach, and support SMSC, PSHE and Citizenship education.
TFL Education is an approved Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Centre. We are also registered as an Arts Award Centre for ‘Discover, Explore, Bronze & Silver’. In addition, we provide LAMDA exams in communication and London College of Music (LCM) singing exams.
TFL Education’s ‘Be Scene Performing Arts Academy’
Be Scene Performing Arts Academy was borne from findings of research carried out in 2016, looking at how character qualities and leadership skills can be nurtured in young people in order for them to flourish.
Be Scene Performing Arts Academy currently runs lunch, after school and evening classes for children aged 4-16 as well as performing arts holiday clubs.
We believe performing arts is invaluable for teaching and developing character qualities and leadership skills in young people. Our learning journeys explicitly teach and expose young learners to the language of character and leadership, as well as performing arts terminology in workshop sessions. From this, young learners develop an awareness of self and begin to understand the transferable personal skills and qualities that raise aspiration, promote achievement and foster happiness.
Alternative Education: EXPLORE
Young learners studying on our alternative education provision will follow a creative performing arts curriculum and embark upon an Arts Award ‘Discover’ level which will be complimented with our character through leadership programme ‘Learning to Lead’. The programme of study enables young learners to find out about themselves, make connections to real life experiences and discover their self worth; nurturing and supporting young learners to develop self-confidence and enabling them to flourish.
TFL Education’s Be Scene Performing Arts Academy will initially be available from September 2018 to support young learners in schools on the Wirral. The programme will be delivered on Thursdays and Fridays, 9.30am - 2.30pm from The Belvidere Centre, Belvidere Road, CH45 4RJ.
Schools are responsible for the safeguarding of their pupils when they are placed in an alternative provision. The new guidance says the schools should obtain a written statement from the provider that they have completed all the vetting and barring checks that are necessary on their staff.
